Little black jaguar purrs through the wood
Two black mirrors are lost on her eyes
She’s not running but this is no round trip
She thinks she may have made up her mind this time
She headed north like any good intellectual would
Only the lightest of minds can go south in times
No, these things thrive on the dark and the cool
To much sky can unravel the tightest of minds
Ch:
She stops and a red covered bridge as her phone vibrates
She gently sets it on the windowsill to decide its own fate
She wonders if this little bridge will ever forgive her cowardice
As she climbs deeper into the darkened mist…
Of the Franconia notch x3 so much more than just another.
her thoughts are lost as the cat crawls
soon she she’ll be far enough, deep enough
she hears nothing but the winds resistance
she gives into the beast’s hunger for distance
her foot rests heavy as the trees hurry their pace
blocking out what little is left of the day
she enjoys this dark too much to illuminate
as the asphalt fades away it only makes her crave… more distance
she runs on like a bead of blood dripping down it’s vein
until she sees, like in a dream, a great bulk blocking her way
her foot remains committed to its task but her eyes harbor doubts
and as she gets closer she see the steam shoot from it’s mouth
both have set their course and don’t plan on veering from the path
the will of nature has brought them together an will have it’s rath
the great dear lowers it’s rack readying for impact
as the black cat leaps, teeth and claws drawn for the attack
there’s no turning back (crash)
in the Franconia notch…so much more than just another…notch
